UFC 102 Promo Video – Couture Vs. Nogueira
Tuesday, 11 August 2009 18:02

Many are looking at this bout as a prelude to a title shot.  For Randy Couture, it would be another attempt at the heavyweight title after losing to Brock Lesnar in his last bout.  Many believed that Couture was executing the perfect game plan but simply got caught and predict that Couture will indeed beat the behemoth that is Lesnar should they face again…but first he will have to get by Antonio Nogueira.

Who’s Next? Or What’s Next For Anderson Silva? Hendo Wants To Beat Him Up!
Monday, 10 August 2009 23:16

After a stunning knockout of the former Light Heavyweight champion Forrest Griffin, The Spider was left with his arm raised victorious and a new goal in mind, the UFC Light Heavyweight crown.  An article on Yahoo Sports read,

With his arm wrapped around White’s shoulder, Soares leaned in and delivered a proposition. “Spider” Silva would move permanently to light heavyweight, even if it meant the unorthodox move of giving up his middleweight belt.

“I can do that,” White smiled, a bit stunned at the offer. “I like that. We can do that.”

Soares smiled and shook White’s hand. Silva had been accosted by a fan by then and couldn’t hear White, but it was presumably the news he was seeking. The man has such outrageous confidence in his abilities he’s willing to potentially toss away a championship he’s owned for almost three years to take a challenge outside his comfort zone.

“I’d let him,” White said later, sitting in his quiet dressing room. “We’d put [the middleweight title] up for grabs.”

Almost seems to tricky though, with the Middleweight title thrown astray, will the new interim middleweight champion be legitimate knowing Anderson Silva gave it away as a gift. Or could there be another relapse of the Heavyweight title when Couture left the UFC, then returned? Maybe Hendo will seal Silva’s fate and solidify the Middleweight division.

Fedor Backs Out, Tito Confirmed, Belfort Confirmed, Don’t Call It A Comeback!!
Tuesday, 04 August 2009 12:19

The Huntington Beach bad Boy is officially back and ready to make his attempt on the once owned 205 title. I’m sure there’s more to the story rather then a quick Twitter exchange but here’s Dana Whites thoughts on the subject, posted at UFC.com;

“Tito and I have history that pretty much everybody knows,” said White. “We have put all our differences aside, have squashed everything, and we’re ready to move forward. Tito Ortiz is still a guy that fans want to see fight, he just had back surgery, he’s getting back into training, he feels good and he’s ready to compete in the 205-pound division and take a shot at the title again. And Tito Ortiz will retire in the UFC.”

The Phenom will also make his triumphant return to the Octagon against world renowned striker Rich Ace Franklin.  The agreement fell into Whites lap after the collapse of Affliction and fans displeasure with the rematch between Dan Henderson and rich Franklin. Belfort last fought in the Octagon four years ago and will now continue his UFC career with a 12 – 5 record looking to reclaim the title he once owned in 2004.

Now for the good news and bad news, the bad news is clear, Fedor signed with Strikeforce to compete against the world’s second best competitors. I wonder why? Let’s see what the former Light Heavyweight champ Chuck Liddell had to say,

In a recent article at fiveknuckles.com, Chuck Liddell began utilizing the social networking tool Twitter and had this to say about Fedor,

"Fedor is fucking scared, anyone see his face during the conference?"

In a more recent interview seen on Cage Writer, Dana White gives his thoughts on the WAMMA World champ following a failed attempt to bring the fans what they want, Fedor.

“I’m in Abu Dhabi right now and my reaction is Fedor is a [expletive] joke. [He] turns down a huge deal and the opportunity to face the best in the world to fight nobodies, for no money. Fedor is a [expletive]!”

“I feel sorry for the real fans! I wanted to make the deal but it takes two and it is VERY obvious Fedor doesn't want to fight the best and doesn't give a [expletive] about the fans.”

Little bit of Tito!!!
